Show Rules (Members Competitions)
- Entries are to be forwarded to the Show Secretary by the date time shown for each show. Whether entries are refused or accepted after that date/time is at the Show Secretary's discretion
- No entry fees apply for Stockbury Cottage Gardeners Association Members
- Only one entry per person in each class.
- Stockbury Cottage Gardeners Association Members and their households and Stockbury Women's Institute Members are eligible to enter all classes. Non-Members can enter up to 2 classes without paying the membership fee. Only Stockbury Cottage Gardeners Association Members are eligible to hold cups and trophies
- Novice classes are open to anyone who has not previously won a trophy in that section
- All sizes stated are approximate, to allow for imperial metric conversion
- The maximum pot size is 10" (25cm), unless stated otherwise
- Cookery: cake/flan pie size is 8" /20cms diameter (1" /2.5cm allowance) unless stated otherwise.
- All exhibits must have been grown by the exhibitor, except floral art classes which, along with cookery and handicrafts. must be entirely made by the exhibitor. unless stated otherwise. Any plants must have been in the exhibitor's possession for a minimum of three months
- All exhibits to be staged between the times stated for each show.
- Society vases are to be used for all flower classes, unless stated otherwise.
- Exhibitors should name varieties on single cultivar classes, whenever possible, as this is of interest to many visitors.
- Exhibitors are not permitted to touch any other exhibit..
- All horticultural exhibits are judged to Royal Horticultural Society rules, cookery exhibits to Women's Institute rules and floral art exhibits to NAFAS rules, wherever possible. If not, or if alternative judges are booked, members will be informed before a show.
- Points awarded at shows: 1st = 4 points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point
- Points awarded for collections, excluding salad: 1st = 6 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 3 points
- Judges are not to enter the hall until it is clear of exhibitors. sex?.
- Judges have the right to award an extra prize where they think necessary, or to withhold a prize if the exhibit is not of sufficient merit.
- Any objections must be made in writing to the Show Secretary before 3.00pm on the day of the show or 9.30pm for the Autumn Show.
- The Judge's decision is final.
- Exhibits must not be removed until advised.
- All Trophies and Awards MUST BE CLEANED & RETURNED to the Show Secretary by the 2022 AGM.
